Shrimp Omelette

Omelettes are a classic breakfast food that’s quick, simple and always tastes good. And while plain omelettes are tasty in their own right, you can add more flavor by including shrimp. When you’re in the mood for something lighter but still filling, try this recipe to make shrimp omelette in less than ten minutes!

We gave this shrimp omelette recipe an Asian flair by adding my favorite ingredient: fish sauce! Adding fish sauce in the omelette provides such a rich umami flavor, it really can’t be beat.

Adding the shrimp to eggs amps up the protein content of this dish. Its a great way to help you hit your protein goals (if you’re into that sort of thing) while being much more interesting that plain boiled chicken.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup shrimp
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • oil

Directions

1. Dice your shrimp to desired size

2. Using a whisk or fork, scramble 6 eggs in a large bowl.

3. Add salt, white pepper, garlic powder, fish sauce, and brown sugar and mix until all ingredients are evenly combined. Lastly, add in your shrimp

4. In a large frying pan, add a layer of cooking oil and put on low to medium heat. After the pan is heated, pour in the shrimp and egg mixture. Leave it to cook for about a minute or until you see a layer of egg cooked underneath.

5. I like my eggs a bit runny so I would choose not to flip it. Also, the egg will continue to cook on the pan.

6. Top with whatever you like on your omelettes! In the video, we used sweet chili sauce and a healthy amount of micro greens.

7. Serve and enjoy!
