SPAM French Toast

A slice of SPAM in a thick slice of French Toast

Ingredients
  

  • cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • salt to taste
  • 6 thick slices bread
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter or more as needed
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 6 slices SPAM or however many bread slices you have

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, whisk together eggssaltvanilla extractcinnamon, and milk. This will be your batter
  • From a loaf, slice your bread extra thick: about 1 inch. Then slice the bread to create a pocket in the middle large enough for your SPAM.
  • In a pan, lay down some oil and pan fry the SPAM until a little golden brown on the outside.
  • Remove the slices of SPAM from the pan and insert them into each bread slice.
  • Dredge each bread slice in the batter and fry in a pan oiled with butter. Fry until you reach your desired consistency
