Chocolate Sticky Rice Balls
Really simple glutinous rice ball (mochi) recipe using dutch processed cocoa to add chocolate flavoring
- ¾ cup + 3 tablespoons glutinous rice flour
- ¼ cup dutch processed cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- a pinch of salt
- peanut butter (optional) easy to drizzle
- sugar topping to taste. I used dulce de leche. Feel free to use condensed milk!
In a large mixing bowl, mix together the 3/4 cups of glutinous rice flour, coco powder, sugar, and salt. Then add water and mix until a proper paste is achieved.
Shape the paste into balls of your preferred size. Use the 3 tablespoons of glutinous rice flour to help shape with your handsds!
In a pot, add the balls to boiling water. When they float they’re done!
Top with peanut butter or sugar or a sweet topping to add a bit of flavor! Enjoy!
