Crispy Rice Sushi

Ingredients
  

  • shortgrain white rice cooked
  • oil for deep frying
  • toppings for sushi such as raw fish, ikura, avocado, etc.

Instructions
 

  • In a medium pot, begin heating oil for deep frying. Peanut oil is generally the best oil to use for deep frying but just be sure to use an oil with a very high smoke point. You want to target 375º F for oil temperature.
  • Using a musubi mold, press some cooked rice into a small layer. Then using a knife, cut the rice width-wise into 4 equal pieces
  • Fry the rice slices in the oil until they start to brown. Remove and set aside to let it dry out.
  • Top with raw fish or any other sushi ingredient you want!
