Quick and Easy Gyudon

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound beef thinly sliced. chuck or ribeye suggested
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 8 - 10 florets of broccoli
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions
 

  • Cook rice
  • While rice is cooking, prepare broccoli however you desire. In the video, I used previously blanched broccoli (90 seconds in salted, boiling water)
  • In an oiled frying pan, cook the beef slices until no longer raw.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the sugar, sake, mirin, and soy sauce. Add to the pan once uniform through out.
  • In a bowl, scramble the eggs
  • Once the sauce is simmering, add egg to the pan and stir.
  • Once the egg is cooked, remove from heat and plate meat and eggs over bed of rice.
  • Add broccoli and garnish. Enjoy!

Notes

The time estimates for this recipe do not include the time it takes to cook rice or veggies
