Another creative waffle! This time, instead of going down the sweet route, I went salty!

Salted egg is a very popular ingredient in South East Asian cuisine. My personal favorite use is as a topping on bibingka, a Filipino dessert.

Based on that, I thought it might turn out well in a waffle! The recipe for this Salted Egg Waffle uses a basic waffle batter with just a couple slices of salted egg tossed in.

Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 salted egg
Directions
1. In a medium bowl, mix together the dry batter ingredients: all purpose flour, sugar, salt. and baking powder.
2. In a large bowl, whisk the two eggs. When thoroughly scrambled, add the vanilla extract, oil, and milk and mix until well combined.
3. Slowly introduce the dry ingredients into the wet. Once you’ve mixed all the ingredients into a uniform mixture, your simple waffle batter is complete!
4. In a heated waffle iron, pour in your batter. add 2 to 3 slices of salted egg. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes until waffle reaches a rich golden brown.

5. Serve and enjoy!
