Another quick and easy sandwich for the inner child. This Pizza Waffle recipe is very simple and straightforward. Use a waffle iron to make two “sandwich slices” and spread your toppings. Cook again until cheese is melted!
In my pizza waffle recipe video, I found a pandesal dough that had been hiding in my fridge for about a week. It had fermented quite a bit which added a lot to flavor! I don’t have an official pandesal recipe up (yet!) but you can follow my cube bread recipe to get the same dough.
Ingredients
For 1 waffle sandwich
- waffle batter enough for two quarter sections of a waffle
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
- 1 dash of oregano
- 1 dash of salt
- 5 slices of pepperoni
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- oil spray
Directions
1. In an oiled waffle iron, cook two quarters of waffle batter on medium
2. When waffles are cooked but not yet well done, add tomato sauce, oregano, salt, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni (in that order) to one quarter waffle.
3. Stack the second quarter waffle on top the other slice. Close the waffle iron and cook on low setting until cheese is melted. Remove before waffle burns.
4. Kick back and feel like a kid again. Enjoy!
