A very simple recipe to make chocolate flavored rice balls kind of like mochi! I used dutch processed cocoa for this one to give it a full bodied chocolate flavor.
Top it with a sweetener of your choice! I used dulce de leche but sugar would work as well. The peanut butter was just a thought I had to make it yummy!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup + 3 tablespoons glutinous rice flour
- 1/4 cup dutch processed cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- a pinch of salt
- peanut butter (optional), easy to drizzle
- sugar topping to taste. I used dulce de leche. Feel free to use condensed milk!
Directions
1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the 3/4 cups of glutinous rice flour, coco powder, sugar, and salt. Then add water and mix until a proper paste is achieved.
2. Shape the paste into balls of your preferred size. Use the 3 tablespoons of glutinous rice flour to help shape with your hands.

3. In a pot, add the balls to boiling water. When they float they’re done!

4. Top with peanut butter or sugar or a sweet topping to add a bit of flavor! Enjoy!
